 Assignment Submittal: Detailed Instructions

Upload and submit the assignment through Locked: Userid/Password Required Blackboard prior to the module's due date and time to successfully complete each module. Late submittals will not be accepted.

Submit the completed assignments created in Microsoft Word 97 or higher by following the steps below:

  1. Log into Locked: Userid/Password Required Blackboard and go to the bus100 course.

  2. Click on Assignments from the course menu on the left

  3. Make sure the Assignments' Inbox tab is selected

  4. Choose the module you wish to submit the assignment for by clicking on its corresponding link. Please be sure to select the correct module link. A status of Individual Not Started should show for this module.

    Additional Help

If a link for the module is not available through the Inbox tab view, check the Submitted or Graded tab to see if it shows there. Every module has a cutoff date/time and you may be trying to submit an assignment after the cutoff date/time for that assignment. Late submittals are not permitted.

  5. Make sure your assignment is prepared using Microsoft Word 97 or higher. When naming this assignment file, you must use single-word filenames or insert an underscore between words (ex. Assignment_1). Blackboard will not recognize filenames with spaces or characters that are not numbers or letters (ex. #, $, %).

  6. Repeat the following steps for each file you wish to submit:
  7. bulletSelect Add Attachments
bulletSelect My Computer from the left menu
    bulletSelect Browse on the right
bulletLocate and highlight your assignment file
bulletSelect Open to select the assignment
bulletSelect OK to upload the assignment

    Additional Help

If you have more than one document to submit when completing an assignment, be sure to upload every file for the assignment. All required files should be uploaded before pressing Submit.

  8. Click Submit to submit your assignment documents.

  9. Confirm you assignment was successfully submitted by viewing the Assignments' Submitted tab. Once the assignment has been graded, a link for it will appear under the Assignments' Graded tab.

bullet Why is the link unavailable for a module I wish to submit an assignment for?

If a link for the module is not available through the Inbox tab view, check the Submitted or Graded tab to see if it shows there. Every module has a cutoff date/time and you may be trying to submit an assignment after the cutoff date/time for that assignment. Late submittals are not permitted.

bullet I have submitted part 1 of an assignment and I am ready to submit part 2, but the link is no longer available. What do I do now?

If you have more than one document to submit when completing an assignment, be sure to upload every file for the assignment before pressing Submit.

If you submitted a partial assignment in error or if you wish to change your assignment documents and then resubmit an assignment before the cutoff date/time, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the Submitted tab view to see if the module's assignment link shows there.
  2. Once the assignment link is located, click on the down arrow icon that shows to the right of the assignment link.
  3. Select Take Submission Back to Inbox.
  4. Go to the Inbox tab view.
  5. Choose the module's assignment by clicking on its corresponding link.
  6. Repeat the following steps for each file you wish to submit:
  7. bulletSelect Add Attachments
bulletSelect My Computer from the left menu
    bulletSelect Browse on the right
bulletLocate and highlight your assignment file
bulletSelect Open to select the assignment
bulletSelect OK to upload the assignment
  8. Click Submit to submit your assignment documents.

These steps allow you to retrieve your assignment, modify your files, and re-submit them. You may move an assignment back to the Inbox tab view anytime up until the cutoff date/time.

bulletHow well did I do on a module's assignment?

Click on the Assignments' Graded tab to view your graded assignments. Once the assignment has been graded, a grade of 1/1 (1 point out of a possible 1 point) will show if the assignment received a passing grade and a grade of 0/1 (0 points out of a possible 1 point) will show if the assignment received a failing grade.

bullet How can I determine my progress status for this course?

This course is graded Pass/Fail and is broken up into Hyperlink 15 Lesson Modules. To achieve a passing grade, a student must successfully complete 13 of the 15 module assignments.

The Assignments tool in Blackboard has 15 assignments—one for each module. If you successfully complete a module assignment, you will receive a grade of 1/1 (1 point out of a possible 1 point) for that assignment. The number of points shown on the Assignments' Graded tab view reflects the number of modules you successfully completed thus far in this course.

bullet I just submitted my assignment. How long will it take until it is graded?

All assignments for this course are graded by the course's technical support staff. Assignments are not graded until after their availability time period is over. Every effort is made to grade the assignments in a timely fashion. However, occasionally during a semester the grading for an assignment may not be completed until a week after the assignment due date.
